Occuring on Wednesday 7 October - Thursday 8 October 9.00am - 4.30pm

About

A two-day conference and workshop organised by SCRI and the Moredun Research Institute supported by the Rural and Environment Research and Analysis Directorate, Scottish Government.

The focus will be on Responses to Climate Change, Protecting Biodiversity and Environmental, Social and Economic Sustainability of Rural Scotland. The workshop will consider the evolution of these important themes and the increasing attention being paid to Health and Wellbeing in the research being done for the Scottish Government.

Speakers include Environment Minister Roseanna Cunningham MSP and writer and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch. Quentin Cooper of BBC Radio 4's Material World will facilitate the event.

Delegates at the workshops will have the chance to examine how these vital themes can be integrated throughout Scotland's world-class research programmes.  How can these topics be given greater focus? And how can the all-important link between science and policy be strengthened?

In addition Science - Policy - Success will provide an entertaining insight into public perceptions of these themes. How can the messages on Climate Change, Biodiversity, Sustainability and Health and Wellbeing be communicated more effectively? The workshop will also feature Have I Got Science News for You!

The conference is now fully subscribed and unfortunately no further places are available. A full programme for the two days can be found below. The full programme for the two days can be found below.
