Rural Development for Scotland: How can the new SRDP deliver?

On Thursday 1st November, SRUC is hosting a conference exploring the future of the SRDP post-2013. The conference has been designed to focus on some of the issues emerging from the Scottish Government’s SRDP Working Groups, including the future of advisory services, increasing innovation, and how to achieve more effective collaboration, targeting and value-added.

Speakers include George Lyon MEP, Billy McKenzie (Scottish Government), Gary Douch (Head of Farming Connect, Welsh Government), Luke Comins (Tweed Forum), Diane Spark (Upper Teesdale Agriculture Support Services Ltd) and Sandy Ramsay (SAC Consulting).

The level of interest in the conference has been high with 110 delegates registered and a long waiting list! This event follows on from the successful ‘Pillar 1’ workshop, ‘A Bright Future for Scottish Agriculture after CAP Reform’, held in February 2012. Both these events have been organised by SRUC’s Rural Policy Centre. The conference programme and all of the presentations will be made available on the Conference web page soon after the event.
