Second Policy Open House Event A Hit With SEPA

Over 30 staff from SEPA’s Erskine Court and Bremner House offices attended the two-hour drop-in session which provided an opportunity to meet with researchers working on a wide selection of topics.

Posters and information were provided on a range of topics including cost-effective greenhouse gas reduction in agriculture, land use and forestry; linking river basin management with ongoing catchment management; phosphorus in Scottish surface waters; and baseline data on Scotland’s soil resource.

The aim of this event was to break down the researcher – policymaker – stakeholder divides by getting researchers to visit and talk with stakeholders and policymakers.  A SEPA representative said “It has been very valuable to our staff for SEPA to host this event. We would be delighted to do something similar in the future targeting a wider audience from all our offices in Scotland. The interaction with the researchers has been great.”
